style="font-weight: bold;">Ft. Washington, MD — KG Rocks normally does tremendous work at Rosecroft Raceway. In fact, just over half of her 13 career wins have come on the fast Fort Washington oval.

Wednesday night (Oct. 17), driver Jason Green knew a speed duel was going to fry the two horses on the front end and moved KG Rocks out before the three-quarter mark and she circled the field for her first win of 2018.

Hot Hot Jenna, who had won three of her last four, was pressured on the front end by a parked out Hybrid Heidi through fractions of :26.3 and :55.2 and that set off a chain reaction of activity. Cedar Hall Heiress cleared the fading Hybrid Heidi, Always A Rose went three deep, and KG Rocks just snuck out into an opening that produced a clear path three wide off the final turn to get home for the 1:54.2 win. Heidi Van Vliet owns and trains the 6-year old Rock N Roll Heaven mare.

Green and Van Vliet teamed up for a win with Winston Hall who wired the field in 2:00. Green started his hat trick with Sophist who won for the first time for Dr. William J. Solomon and trainer Steve Le Blanc in 1:58.3.

John Wagner won a pair of races on the night. Carrick trotted to victory in the final strides over 14-year-old Spunky Vic in 1:59.4 for owners Scott Woogen and Pamela Wagner and Bourse Hanover won for the fourth time this year in 1:58.1 for owner-trainer John Bell.

Jason Thompson swept the late daily double with Aunt Babe for Jeff Beauchamp and Ronald Short and trainer Brian Wright while Catscratchfever took the nightcap for owner-trainer Brian Tomlinson.
