The  Meadows Standardbred Owners Association has announced a 10 percent purse increase beginning Monday, June 1, and the increase coincides with The Meadows' return to night racing for the first time since 2007, which will begin on June 1.

 

"Obviously this increase brings us yet again to a new record for purse distribution," said Richard Gillock, MSOA President.  "We will now be offering approximately $190,000 per card in purses."

 

The track's permanent casino opened this spring and increased revenue from the facility's slot machines, coupled with increased wagering on live racing, has created the opportunity for the purse increase.

 

The Meadows will continue to offer racing four days per week, Monday through Thursday, and will move to a 6:20 PM post time beginning June 1. (MSOA)
