A winner of over half a million in career earnings, Hasty Bid won his second qualifying appearance of the year with ease at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday morning, April 12.

Hasty Bid took the lead early and never looked back as he raced uncontested through panels in :29.4, 1:00 and 1:29.3. The Paige Austin student sprinted home and opened up with every stride, winning by uncharted open lengths in 1:59.1.

The four-year-old gelded son of My MVP-Sunshinenlollipops is owned by 1000063663 Ontario Inc. and Paige Austin. Hasty Bid has $525,411 in career earnings and a record of 4-8-2 from 21 starts. His successful sophomore campaign followed performances in the Canadian Trotting Classic, Goodtimes, Ontario Sires Stakes and a fourth in a Breeders Crown elimination.

The eighth race was combined with the entries from race nine, leaving One Last Wish (Paul MacDonell) in a six-horse field going to the gate. The four-year-old mare trained by Ken Sucee faced no woes in her larger field as she led gate to wire through panels in :31.1, 1:00 and 1:28.1 before easing home to win by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:57.2.

Bred and owned by Brian Legge and Dr. David Legge, One Last Wish (Bettors Delight-Arts Diva) made her second start of the year in qualifiers at the Campbellville, Ont. oval. From 16 starts last year, she made six trips to the winner's circle and banked the majority of her $447,802 career bankroll with $410,066 earned. Her resume features success in the Ontario Sires Stakes as well as in the Simcoe.
