Winbak Farm of Delaware is pleased to announce that Nutcracker Sweet, p, 2, 1:50.2; 1:50.1f ($520,015), will be standing his first season in Delaware in 2024. 

 

“When the opportunity presented itself to acquire Nutcracker Sweet, I thought he would be a fantastic addition to the Delaware program,” said Jack Burke, Winbak Farm General Manager. “He is the complete package with great looks, a phenomenal pedigree and a fast record at 2.”

 

As a yearling, Nutcracker Sweet sold at Harrisburg for $150,000.

 

Nutcracker Sweet won 19 races. At 2, Nutcracker Sweet won the Bluegrass Stakes in 1:50.3 and International Stallion Stakes in 1:50.2 (last quarter :27.1) at The Red Mile. He was second in Governors Cup elimination at The Meadowlands (timed in 1:51.1 with a :26.2 last quarter), two Pennsylvania Sires Stakes legs, and was third in Metro Pace elimination. 

 

At 3, he was second in the Max C. Hempt Memorial elimination and Final (timed in 1:48.3) at Pocono Downs, North America Cup elimination at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and was third in Pennsylvania Sires Stakes leg.

 

“Nutcracker Sweet competed against and beat stand-outs such as American History, Dorsoduro Hanover, Lather Up, Stay Hungry, and This Is The Plan,” said Joe Thomson, Winbak Farm Owner. “Nutcracker Sweet offers breeders an affordable opportunity to breed to a stallion with a Hall of Fame pedigree and stakes-winning career.”

 

Nutcracker Sweet is a son of Hall Of Fame Broodmare Inductee, Sweet Future. Her offspring have earned $7.69 Million. 

 

“Nutcracker Sweet is a Bettor’s Delight son of a mare whose offspring include 2 Double Millionaires,” said Thomson. “His sisters have also produced Millionaires, including Captain Crunch whose first crop included 2023 Breeders Crown Winner, Gem Quality.” 

 

Nutcracker Sweet is a half-brother to USHWA Dan Patch Award Winner, Sweet Lou, p, 2, 1:49s; 3, 1:47.4s; 1:47f ($3,478,070), who is the sire of 5 Millionaires including 2023 standout, Confederate, p, 3, 1:46.1 ($2,077,554). Nutcracker Sweet is a full-brother to Bettor Sweet, p, 2, Q2:00.1; 3, 1:49.3; 1:47.2 ($2,779,678), and a half-brother to the dams of Captain Crunch, p, 2, 1:49.1; 3, 1:47.2s ($1,561,904), and Youaremycandygirl, p, 2, 1:50; 3, 1:48.2 ($1,566,292).

 

“Nutcracker Sweet should be a great cross for many leading bloodlines, including American Ideal, Art Major, Badlands Hanover, Dragon Again, Roddy’s Bags Again, Somebeachsomewhere and Western Ideal,” said Burke. “If any breeders have questions, the Winbak Farm Team is available to help with potential crosses and broodmare management tips.”
