Washington, PA — Better B Bold moved relentlessly without cover, put away the leader at the top of the lane and scored decisively in Friday’s co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 conditioned pace.

Hammered down to 2-5, Better B Bold was a leisurely fifth when Aaron Merriman sent him on his way. The 3-year-old son of Betterthancheddar-B So Lucky gobbled up the front-ending Bet On Zette and triumphed in 1:51.3, 1-1/2 lengths better than Double Up N, with Bereaved Hanover third.

Todd Luther trains Better B Bold, who now boasts a career bankroll of $168,463, for Greg Luther Racing.

In Friday’s companion feature, a $12,100 conditioned trot, Windsong Patriot led at every call for the second straight week to prevail for Hunter Myers and trainer Melanie O’Donnell, who owns with Corey Hendricks. The 7-year-old E L Titan-Windsong Idol gelding triumphed in 1:55, a length better than Parshall, with Smashing Racquets third. Windsong Patriot boosted his lifetime earnings to $226,860.
