Harrington, DE — Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes action for 2-year-olds will headline the Sept. 25-27 week of racing at Harrington Raceway.

The male pacers will be in action Monday, pacing fillies on Tuesday and trotters on Wednesday as they complete the first of two elimination legs before the $110,000 finals Oct. 9-11.

Three $20,000 divisions of pacing colts and geldings will kick off the action on Monday with Unexpected Twist (7-5, Art Stafford Jr.), Papas Son (9-5, Stafford Jr.) and Cavalli Island (2-1, Ross Wolfenden) being favored in each of their respective divisions. Badlands Hanover-sired horses make up nine of the 23 horses in those divisions.

A trio of filly pacing divisions will be featured on the Tuesday card. Badlands Hanover (five) and Roddy’s Bags Again (four) are the predominant sires in a diverse group of fillies that includes Nova’s Baby Girl (3-2, Eddie Davis), Designs On You (7-5, Allan Davis) and Curtsyforpurrseco (7-5, Ross Wolfenden) as the morning line favorites.

On the trotting side, five divisions will be in action, spotlighting the debut of first-crop sire EL Platinum who is the sire of nine of the 23 horses. Anders Bluestone is the sire of six of those entries. Marino’s Prize (Jordan Stratton) and Daburg (Pat Berry) appear to be early favorites in the filly divisions, while LG’s Bluestone (Art Stafford Jr.) has shown the most speed early in his career of the male trotters.
