Kixton Hanover roars through to win co-feature

Tuesday, December 8, 2020  By: MSOA

WASHINGTON, PA, Dec. 7, 2020 — Kixton Hanover roared through the stretch to capture Monday’s harness racing co-feature at The Meadows, a $10,000 Conditioned Trot.

When I Have A Dream pulled the pocket down the backside and opened a daylight lead, it appeared the others were racing for minor awards. But when Wilbur Yoder asked Kixton Hanover for more, the 3-year-old Trixton-Keepsake Hanover gelding responded, overtaking I Have A Dream and downing him by a neck in 1:57.4. Early leader Benezia finished third.

Kelly Stackowicz trains and owns Kixton Hanover.

Yoder swept Monday’s co-feature when he took a $10,000 Conditioned Pace with Lyons Friends.  The 3-year-old Western Ideal-Artistic Vision gelding triumphed in 1:54.3 for trainer Scott Cox and owners Brady Ash and Robert Wehner.

Brady Brown, who’s earned the nickname “Downtown” for his success with long shots, was at it again Monday, winning four overall, including scores at 20-1 and 19-1. Yoder finished with three victories on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Tuesday when the 13-race program features a $7,071.63 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 PM.
