Tuesday, August 19, 2014  By: Standardbred Canada

Three-year-old pacing fillies butted heads in a pair of eliminations for the Innisfil Summer Claiming Series Tuesday evening at Georgian Downs, with Kyles Secret and Alot Of Sense prevailing in their $5,000 assignments.

Kyles Secret marched to the lead from Post 2 for trainer/driver Kelly Sheppard, and after chopping out fractions of :27, :57 and 1:25 she stepped home in :29.3 to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Go For Sand in 1:54.3. Silverhill Gertie rounded out the top three finishers in the six-horse affair.

Sea Of Green Inc of Dundas, Ontario owns the daughter of Secrets Nephew-Jates Kate, who now boasts a 2014 record of 5-1-1 from nine trips to the track.

Alot Of Sense was treated to a ground-saving trip in the second elimination, and the filly didn’t let it go to waste. Trevor Henry shook loose with the Richard Moreau pupil in the lane and she used a :28-second closing quarter to prevail by a neck over race favourite Shhh Its A Secret in 1:56. Taking home third prize was Dostal Alley.

The daughter of Classic Card Shark-Electric Smile is now 2-for-12 this season for the Alot Of Sense Stable of Guelph, Ontario.

The $22,400 final of the Innisfil Summer Claiming Series for the three-year-old pacing fillies is scheduled for Saturday, August 30.

Tuesday’s card also featured a $3,200 Racing Under Saddle event for trotters, and when the dust settled it was Radical Dreamer who prevailed for Marit Valstad in 2:00.4. The five-year-old daughter of Majestic Son-Paidindreams drew in from the also eligible list and won by a head over Hetties Honey in 2:00.4. Tymal Oh So Nice was a distant third.

O’Neill shares ownership on the mare with Doug Millard of Woodstock, Ontario. The victory was her fifth of the season and the 14th of her career. Three of those victories were earned in the RUS Ontario events.
