Fort Washington, MD --- Rosecroft Spring dash champion Russell Foster dominated closing night at Rosecroft Raceway on Wednesday (May 31).

Foster won five races, including two Maryland Sires Stakes Championships. The 27-year-old Foster won with Mr Ham Sandwich, a son of Cam's Rocket, for owner Brian Emerson and trainer Judy Welty in 1:52.3. It was 10th win in 13 lifetime starts as he took the top spot in the $70,500 final.

Foster also guided Hybrid Henry to a win in the $70,050 trotting final in 1:55.3 for owner/trainer Richard Hans. The Altered son of Cam's Rocket notched his 11th win in 15 starts and pushed his lifetime earnings over $117,000.

Foster finished the meet with 70 wins. Frank Milby was second and Roger Plante third.

Plante won the other two Sires Stakes titles up for grabs. Holy Trout, the daughter of Holy Guacamolie won for the 13th time in 17 outings and is a perfect five-for-five in 2017. Dr. William Solomon owns and bred the trotting filly for trainer Steve LeBlanc.

LeBlanc copped the pacing fillies division with Miss Valerie. After suffering her first lifetime loss last week, the daughter of Allie's Western sat the pocket and patiently drew off from pace setter Hybrid Heidi in the stretch to win for LeBlanc and co-owners Count De Money Stable and William Lutz Jr. in 1:54. on a track labeled good.

Plante finished the meet with a flurry, winning eight races over the final two nights, taking the Mares Open with 11-year-old Rhapsody Rose who scored for Twin Ponds Stable and trainer Brian Fisher in 1:52.2 for career win number 40.

Milby guided another veteran mare, Madge's Little Fortune to her 49th career win. The daughter of Cam's Fortune is owned by Breeder Love of My Life Stable and trained by Rosecroft's leading dash trainer Ken Schlotzhauer who won a tight battle with Brian Burton and Judy Welty.

Rosecroft resumes live racing in October.
