$100,000 DSBF SOPH COLT TROT FINAL

DOVER, Del.----  Unbeaten I Like My Boss leads a field of eight in the $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) Three-Year-Old Male Trot Final while Enrico AS seeks a third consecutive win in the $24,000 Open Trot Handicap on the regular card on Wednesday, March 9 at Dover Downs. First post is 4:30 p.m.
 

In the first DSBF $20,000 trot, Briefs Or Boxers, owned, trained and driven by Carlo Poliseno, is program favorite after winning a 1st leg last week. Gateway Stable’s Streets Of Gold with Eddie Davis Jr. and Charles Winbrow and Jimmy Lunn’s AJ Commander and Ross Wolflenden lead the opposition.
 

I Like My Boss teamed with Jonathan Roberts has won all six of his lifetime starts for breeders- owners trainer Bob Shahan and Jimmy and Angela Parsons and is the race favorite. Last week a pair of up setters made the winner’s circle in their $20,000 preliminary divisions; Crawford Rayne’s Toolbox and Bill Long, in only the gelding’s second career start and Gateway Stable’s Street Of Gold, with Eddie Davis Jr. driving. Eli Beiler and trainer-driver Art Stafford Jr.’s Bosston BNZ and Briefs And Boxers, owned, trained and driven by Carlo Poliseno are the other prelim leg winners. The other starters are Providence West Inc.’s Odessa piloted by Kim Vincent and Marvin Meyer’s My Boy Charlie and driver Roger Plante.
 

Syl King’s Whichwayrightrleft (Ross Wolfenden) is the one to beat in a $20,000 DSBF trot consolation. 

 
Enrico AS (Ron Pierce) has won his last two races in-a-row and three of his last four starts for owners Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta, The five-year-old leaves from post 6 in the $24,000Open/Handicap trot, Barbara Boese’s Awsome Valley (Tony Morgan) is fresh from a front-end win last start. Walt Callam’s Spunky Jack (Roger Plante) has been sharp all meet and a three-time winner. Lois and Earl Walters and E&K Stables’ I’m So Striking (Eddie Dennis) is a strong closer. Rich Poillucci’s Guiltywithanexcuse (Daryl Bier) just missed finishing second by a neck last week and Benbar Stable’s Cadillac Cruiser (Davis Jr.) completes the starting lineup.

 
On Friday, the meet comes to a close with a $100,000 DSBF sophomore male pace, the headline event of Dover Downs’ closing program this meet.

 
Post time is 4:30 p.m. Delaware harness racing resumes on Monday, April 21 at Harrington Raceway with a 5:30 p.m. post time.
