Tuesday, October 25, 2011  By: Winbak Farm

A son of Supergill and Lady McBur, a Meadow Road mare, Malabar Man’s looks matched his royal pedigree. With a long list of awards, including being the 1997 US Horse Of The Year and being inducted into the Living Hall of Fame in 2008, Malabar Man was a true champion. His 26 racing wins included winning the Breeders Crown at 2 and winning the Hambletonian, Breeders Crown, and Bluegrass at 3. He earned $2,143,903 in his racing career.

His achievements while standing at stud, including being the sire of 7 horses who have earned over $500,000, 287 who have trotted in 2:00 or faster, and his offspring have earned a collaborative $36,964,487. His offspring include 2008 USHWA Dan Patch Award Winner Two Year Old Trotting Filly of The Year, Honorable Daughter, who won 11 times in her career and earned $979,236 and Armbro Barrister who earned $972,896 and won 51 times.

Most recently, he was a favorite of the international tourists of the World Trotting Conference who came to visit. His last crop will be born in 2012. Malabar Man will be missed.
