DOVER, Del.—  Again this year, Winbak Farm-breds dominate the four $100,000  Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF)  finals accompanied by three consolations stakes to be raced on the Governor’s day program this Thursday, July 28 during the Delaware State Fair at Harrington Raceway.

The top eight DSBF point-getters after two weeks of $20,000 preliminaries qualified for $100,000 finals. Of the 32 starters in finals, 23 are sired by stallions standing at Winbak of Delaware.  In consolations,11 of 16 are also Winbak breds.

Badlands Hanover led all divisions with 11 starters  CR Commando topped the trotting starters with seven.  Other Winbak stallions are represented by four by Political Briefing, and four by Three Olives, three by Powerful Toy, two each by Crown Prince Gar and the late Shotgun Scott and another sired by Three Wizzards.

The entire field of eight in $100,000 DSBF Filly pacing division are Winbak breds. The one to beat is reigning two-year-old champ and this Spring’s Dover Downs sophomore winner Badlands Jenna owned by trainer Ben Stafford and Winbak Farm with Ben Stafford Jr. driving.

In the filly trot final, Overnight Command owned and piloted by Jim Morand and Nanticoke Racing brings a five-for-five seasonal record and nine of 12 lifetime for trainer Les Givens into the event.

The $100,000 colt and gelding trot  shapes up as a battle between Obey The Command owned by LeBlanc Racing and Winbak Farm and  Lawrence and Barbara Mayer’s Mob Boss trained by Anastasios Papadopolous with Bret Brittingham in the bike.

Three Martini’s, driven by Montrell Teague for Badlands Racing and trainer George Teague , a six-time winner in 12 races this season is program favorite with Donna Rae Sullivan’s Dyslexic and Ross Wolfenden heading the challengers.

The $100,000 DSBF Finals share the day’s spotlight with the $40,000 Delaware Governor’s Cup on the traditional Governor’s Day events spanning 13 races at Harrington Raceway  during the Delaware State Fair on Thursday, July 28.
