Three Martini's, Bad Man Sam win Delaware-bred stakes preliminaries

Harrington, DE --- Badlands Racing, George Teague and P. Patel’s Three Martini’s ($2.10, Montrell Teague, 1:53) and Donald Leager’s Bad Man Sam ($3.20, Allan Davis, 1:56.2) each won their $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) 3-year-old pacing colt series on Wednesday at Harrington Raceway.

“Martini,” a Three Olives colt, set all the fractions and held-off a game Dyslexic to the wire in the faster elimination. Ezy Passn was third. Three Martini’s is trained by co-owner George Teague, and has now won eight of 19 career starts. Meanwhile, Bad Man Sam was a front-stepping winner over Lucky Land in his one-length win, while Princeley Asset was third. Trained by owner Don Leager, Bad Man Sam has won half of his eight career starts.

The second leg of the DSBF events for pacing colts will take place Wednesday, June 22. The 3-year-old trotters will compete in their second leg on Sunday, June 19.
