Hamburg, NY –  It was fiesta time for Ellieonthemove on Cinco De Mayo as she got back to her winning ways in Buffalo Raceway’s $10,200 Class A-Open Handicapped Pace for the filly and mares on Wednesday evening (May 5). She held off a late charging Protect Blue Chip by a length in 1:56.0 over the fast race track to notch the popular $3.30 decision.

It was the first victory for Ellieonthemove in her last three starts after previously taking three of four races.

With Wonderful World (Jim Morrill Jr.) leading the way to an opening half of :57.1, Ellieonthemove (Kevin Cummings) was first up on the rim approaching the three-quarter marker.

Getting on even terms with Wonderful World hitting the home stretch, Ellieonthemove was no match for the remaining five ladies and took the solid victory. Protect Blue Chip (Billy Davis Jr.) came roaring on the outside late but ran out of real estate and finished second. Wonderful World and Greenhilldebatable (Shawn McDonough) hit the line together and had to share third place honors.

Owned by Sidney Easton and trained by Anthony Cummings, it was the fifth win in 13 appearances for Ellieonthemove (Well Said-Ireneonthemove). The 6-year-old mare has now earned $24,456 in 2021 and $117,754 lifetime.

Morrill Jr. and Cummings each had driving triples with Davis Jr. and Ray Fisher Jr. doubling. Rock Vinci and Christopher Naedele produced a pair of training victories.

Racing will continue on Saturday evening with an 11-race program set with post time scheduled for 6 p.m.
