Trainers have been busy fine-turning horses over the Woodbine Mohawk Park oval in recent training sessions offered at the Campbellville track, and in just a few more days they’ll find themselves back in action racing for purse money.

Seventy-five horses are slated to line-up behind the starting gate on Thursday, February 18 as part off the opening night’s nine-race program.

It’s a card that features a combination of claiming and conditioned events, and one horse that jumps off the program page is Day At The Gym in Race 7. The lightly-raced, three-year-old son of Muscle Mass-Day At The Spa is primed to take on seven foes in the $17,000 assignment for trotters.

Trained by Carl Jamieson and driven by Jody Jamieson, the gelding will look to build on an eye-catching debut on December 23, 2020. He marched to the lead from Post 7 that night and simply clobbered foes by just over six lengths in a time of 1:58.2. He was a popular winner that evening, and there’s a good chance he’ll be just as popular in Thursday’s follow-up assignment.

A $100,000 guaranteed pool Early Pick-5 kicks off Thursday’s proceedings, and another Pick-5 can be found later on the card in Race 5. A set of Pick-4 wagers – the early Pick-4 in Race 4 and the late Pick-4 in Race 6 – will also be offered in additions to rolling Daily Double and rolling Pick-3 wagers. The Jackpot Hi 5 will be served up in the finale.
