On top at every call, Hes Marvalous cruised to victory in the Friday evening featured event on the opening card of the season at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.


Myles Heffernan Sr. drove Hes Marvalous in the $2,500 Friday evening feature for trainer Myles Heffernan Jr., and owner Jackie Heffernan. The seven-year-old son of Delmarvalous left sharply from post four to seize the front end and went through splits of :29.3, :59.4, 1:28.3 and 1:57.3 to win by two lengths. Creepin (driven by David Dowling) rallied for second while Adventure Luck (Corey MacPherson) was third.


The win was one of two on the card for trainer Heffernan Jr., as Lorne Valley Barb was 1:58.4 victor in race eight with Corey MacPherson recording win number 999 of his driving career.


Marc Campbell and Dowling started off the season in a tie for leading driver as both reinsmen won three races.


Campbell won the season opener with Scoot Out Of Here in 1:58.2 for trainer Vaughan Doyle then later won with the O’Leary pair of Vegas Rich for Jansen Sweet in 2:00.4 and Shiftyn Georgie in 1:59.2 for trainer Jaycob Sweet.


Dowling's wins came aboard Noudidnt Blue Chip in 1:59 for trainer Jonah Moase, Windemere Albert in 2:01.3 for Earl Watts, and Ramset in 2:01 for Kyle Williams.
