It was an ‘all about Angus Hall’ night at Mohawk Racetrack on Thursday evening, as the popular trotting sire watched his daughters sweep the OSS Gold Series divisions featured at the Campbellville oval.

Margie turned a two-hole trip into a 1:56.1 victory in her $105,000 division for driver Sylvain Filion. The daughter of Angus Hall-Armbro Blusher tracked race favourite Miss Liv through panels of :27.3 and :56.4 before going first-over and pressing the leader to the three-quarter pole in 1:26.3. Margie unleashed a :29.3 closing quarter to win by two lengths over Mayberry. Tosca tagged along to finish third.

Trainer George Ducharme co-owns the four-time winner with Paul Fontaine, Jim Winske and Michael Winters. The career winner of $152,441 has put together a 3-1-1 record this season from just six tries.

White Becomes Her upset heavily-favoured Muscle Babe in the other division, winning in 1:55.4 for Team Baillargeon. The Angus Hall-Pursuing Keagan miss powered to the early lead and had the field chasing her past the opening quarter in :27.3. Muscle Babe, the 1-5 favourite, rocketed from third to first in the backstretch and she proceeded to wheel the group through middle splits of :57.4 and 1:27.4. White Becomes Her popped off the rail going to the three-quarter marker, and her :28-second final quarter was more than enough to pull away to the win by 5-1/2 lengths over Muscle Babe. O’Brien Award-winning Riveting Rosie was third.

Mario Baillargeon mapped out the winning trip for the Ben Baillargeon trainee, who is owned by Vince Mastrangelo of Brampton, Ontario. It was the third win of the season – and the fourth to date – for the trotting lass who was plucked from the 2012 Canadian Yearling Sale for $11,500. The youngster has banked $160,840 to date.
