Two $100,000 DSBF finals Saturday at Dover Downs

Dover, DE --- The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 2-year-old filly finals for trotters and pacers are set for this Saturday (Dec. 3) at Dover Downs. First post is 5:30 p.m.

In the filly pace finale, Badlands and LeBlanc Racings’ No Picnic, with Ross Wolfenden at the controls, is the program favorite in a field of eight. She has won her two preliminaries impressively after finishing second in late October in the $100,000 Harrington final.

Ed Walls’ Designer Bags won a prelim among her six wins this year and will be driven by Allan Davis. Preston Burris and Dave Hanauer’s Genie’s Genie and Tony Morgan have been sharp all season. Garnet O’Marrow’s homebred Seboomook Hooter (Vince Copeland) chalked up an impressive win last week.

Ted Press’ Karen’s Assets with Jon Roberts in the bike has three straight seconds and will leave from the rail. Mary Martin’s Mac’s Journey won a prelim and finished third in another for Sean Bier. Powergirl’s Z Tam, owned by MJGB Racing and trainer Dave McCaffrey, will team with meet leading driver Corey Callahan, while Dorothy Hock, Katherine Ricci and trainer Ben Stafford’s Joyanna and Ben Stafford, Jr. must overcome starting from outside post eight.

Alleigh Girl (Ross Wolfenden) is a prohibitive favorite in the $100,000 filly trot. She romped through her prelims at Harrington and won the final and has shown no let up in her two DSBF prelim wins at Dover for owners Nanticoke Racing and Delbert Cain.

La Vita Loca Rusty (Brad Hanners), bred and owned by Carter Racing, and Pamela Wagner’s homebred JA’s Charmer (Vic Kirby) also won prelims.

The other starters are Baron Racing and trainer Josh Green”s Commitment To Win (Roger Plante), along with Winbak Farm’s Great Quantity (Jeff Fout), Virginia Louthan’s Bosston Bell (George Dennis), Ashlee’s Sunrise, owned by trainer Art Stafford and driver Art Stafford, Jr. and Jodi Lin (Kim Vincent), racing for Ollie and Betty Ervin.

On Sunday (Dec. 4) the DSBF 2-year-old finals spotlight colts and geldings with two $100,000 events, one for pacers and the other for trotters.
