Bettor's Delight: Harness Racing's Pacing Sire of the Decade (2010-2019)

How many stallions have increases in stud fee as they get older? At the age of 22, Bettors Delight (Cams Card Shark - Classic Wish) stands for $20,000 -- an increase of 25 percent from his fee a year prior. And his 2020 book is already full and closed.

When your 2019 crop boasted the likes of O'Brien Award finalists Alicorn ($536,907) and Caviart Ally ($1,956,238), O'Brien finalist and Dan Patch Award winner Tall Dark Stranger ($936,868) and the richest Standardbred of 2019, Dan Patch Award winner Bettors Wish ($2,095,808), such a stud fee hike is expected and fully warranted.

Offspring of Bettors Delight earned in excess of $200 million over the decade, far outpacing his closest rival Somebeachsomewhere ($133 million). As a broodmare sire, his daughters have produced the likes of Bronx Seelster ($548,702), Darlinonthebeach ($1,154,356), Kendall Seelster ($956,286) and Shower Play ($558,119).
