With its first qualifying session coming up this weekend, Hanover Raceway's 50th anniversary season is set to kick off on Saturday, June 7.
Hanover will host qualifiers this Saturday, May 31 at 11 a.m. The condition sheet can be viewed here. Entries can be made by calling Ian Fleming at 1-800-898-7792 or 519-482-5270.
First race post time on Saturday, June 7 is 7:15 p.m. and the first 100 patrons that purchase a program on site will also receive a free 50th anniversary hat. Hanover's Opening Day also coincides with the Bring A Friend National Challenge. Fans and their friends who register will be eligible to win special prizes that evening.
"Hanover Raceway is in the midst of renovations, but we intend to be ready for fans on June 7," General Manager Gord Dougan told Trot Insider.
Dougan said Hanover's new Coach House restaurant will host a grand opening on Friday, July 4, but will open with a limited menu in mid-June. The facility's renovations also include new washrooms in the grandstand. A new website will also be launched in time for Opening Day.
