No Competition Grabs The 'Pot O Gold'



After winning his opening leg division of the Pot O Gold Claiming Series for $4,500 claiming pacers on June 4, No Competition took the following week off and returned fresh for the $22,000 finale on Saturday night at Sudbury Downs.



Trained and driven by David Dowling, the eight-year-old son of Rustler Hanover-Cams Legend followed along in fourth before launching his attack near the third quarter mark. No Competition kicked home in :30.2 to prevailed by three-quarters of a length in 1:58. Entrymates In The Studio (Justin Turcotte) and Mancasso (Richard Baker), a first leg winner, finished second and third respectively.



No Competition paid $5.30 to win as the popular choice. Dowling co-owns the career winner of over $200,000 with Keith Vaillancourt of Chelmsford, Ont. The brown gelding has put together a record reading 4-5-3 in 19 starts this year and has banked $23,598.
