Dealer’s Table (Josh Sutton) completed a sweep of the Omar Hiteman Memorial for pacers that were non-winners of two races or $20,000 when he edged Dashing To Da Wire (Tyler Smith) by a neck in a new lifetime mark of 1:51.1. The American Ideal colt is still undefeated after his first four starts—victories in a N/W 1 race and all three legs of the Hiteman series, all at Miami Valley.
Sutton, who has been in Dealer’s Table’s sulky in all four wins, calls the winner “the real deal. If this colt stays sound, the sky’s the limit for him.”
Josh was taking no chances in the $27,500 championship tilt by putting the favorite on the engine throughout the mile with quarter splits of :27, :56 and 1:23.1 on his way to the narrow 1:51.1 score. Seattle Hanover (Chris Page) was just over a length back to grab the show dough. Dealer’s Table is co-owned by his trainer Jeff Cullipher with partner Pollack Racing Stable LLC.
Red Rose Swan (driver-trainer LeWayne Miller) lived up to her heavy favoritism in the $27,500 final of the Dr. Dan Farwick Memorial Series for more experienced trotters.
The 4-year-old daughter of Swan For All earned $153,260 as a sophomore and has already added $33,750 in 2019. Miller piloted the winner through fractions of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:25 before sealing the deal in 1:55 to equal her lifetime best.
The outcome was in doubt in deep stretch as runner-up Broadway Mojo (Chris Page) kept inching closer despite a grueling extended first-over grind. Peggy Sue (Brady Galliers) overcame an outside post draw to rally for third. Brian and Jeremy Eash own Red Rose Swan.
