g>Dover, DE — Both $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 3-year-old trotting finals resulted in lifetime marks on a chilly but still Monday night (April 1) at Dover Downs.


There was no surprise in the colt division as odds-on favorite Embrace The Grind (Keystone Activator-My Embrace) went wire-to-wire and pulled away by four lengths in a new lifetime record of 1:57.4 for driver Jonathan Roberts. Embrace The Grind, bred by Tyler and Leigh Raymer, is owned and trained by Bobby Glassmeyer.


Rich N Royal finished second, followed by Just As Striking.


The filly division was a sprint to the wire with favorite Disco Soliel (CR Commando-CR Penny Lane) winning by a half-length for breeder-owner-driver Rod Allen and trainer Carlo Poliseno in a new lifetime record of 1:59.1. Disco Soliel is 3-for-3 this year and increased her lifetime earnings to $190,800.


Cierra’s Choice was second, followed by Dark Dutchess.


Delaware governor John Carney made a surprise visit to Dover Downs, greeting the winners and conversing with the horsemen.


Dover Downs is dark Tuesday (April 2) but will return on Wednesday (April 3) with the $100,000 final of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 3-year-old filly pace. First post time is at 4:30 p.m.
