Farm is sad to announce that Vesta Blue Chip has passed away. Vesta Blue Chip was 26 years old.

 

Vesta Blue Chip was a great mare that we were honored to have in our broodmare band,” said Garrett Bell, General Manager. “She was a consistent producer of rich performers.”

 

Her prodigy includes Horse of the Year, Rainbow Blue, p, 2, 1:54.2; 3, 1:49.2s ($1,428,594). Rainbow Blue is the dam of Somwherovrarainbow, p, 2, 1:51.2s; 3, 1:51f; 1:48f ($1,338,408).

 

Vesta Blue Chip was also the dam of 3 additional Winners of $100,000+ including, Westward Vision, p, 3, 1:54.1f; 1:49.2 ($263,483), Sports Chic, p, 2, 1:54.2f ($254,738), and War Front, p, 2, 1:54f; 3, 1:51.3f ($124,200). She produced 11 Winners from 16 Foals. Her offspring averaged $180,160 per starter.

 

Vesta Blue Chip was a great foundation mare for the farm. At Winbak Farm, her bloodline will continue on with the 3 daughters that Winbak Farm has in the broodmare band. One of the daughters, Feelinglikeastar, is the dam of 2018 standout, Zero Tolerance, p, 2, 1:51 -'18 ($392,891).
