ng in off the WEG Circuit, J Eagle Feather won his Flamboro Downs debut in Sunday night's featured $11,000 Preferred 2 Handicap Pace for trainer/driver Travis Cullen.

 

Sent postward as the 2-5 favourite, J Eagle Feather ($2.90) worked his way to the lead during a :27.1 opening quarter then cruised through middle splits of :56.3 and 1:25.4 en route to the 1:54 victory. Boomboom Ballykeel (Bob McClure) chased the winner home from the pocket, finishing one and a quarter lengths behind in second, while Woggy Rocks (Colin Kelly) closed for third.

 

Cullen also co-owns the five-year-old gelded son of Bettors Delight, who now has two wins from nine starts on the year, with Rachel Andrew of Rockton, Ont. and Manitoba's Keith Hannah.

 

Later on the card, favourite Win One Soon ($3.10) won the $7,500 Preferred 3 in wire-to-wire fashion for trainer/driver Paul MacKenzie and owner Ronald Ash of Desboro, Ont. The five-year-old Jeremes Jet gelding kept first-over challenger Bali (Robert Shepherd) at bay for the one and a quarter length victory in 1:55.2 over track conditions downgraded to 'good.' Mach It Big (Anthony MacDonald) finished third off a pocket trip.
