Choose My Jet and Lets Wait And See earned their first wins of the year, both scoring from off-the-pace in Sunday night's co-featured $7,500 Preferred 3 events at Flamboro Downs.

Favourite Katherine B led the field of Preferred 3 filly and mare pacers through opening panels of :27.4 and :57.4 before being overtaken. As Lady Jen stalled first-over, Bestulldotanite tipped out of the pocket and a second-over Choose My Jet ($18.30) went three-wide. The outsiders battled past three-quarters in 1:27.3 and through the stretch with the five-year-old Jeremes Jet mare, Choose My Jet, ultimately prevailing by half a length in 1:56.4 for driver J Harris and owner/trainer Ian Downey. Regal Luck closed well from the backfield to finish third ahead of Katherine B.

Sent postward as the 2-1 favourite in the Preferred 3 for male pacers, Lets Wait And See ($6.70) had some work to do as he got away seventh through a :27.3 first quarter. As Bali took over the top spot, Lets Wait And See began his first-over journey to track down the leader. He advanced steadily through middle splits of :56 and 1:25 to move up on even terms with Bali turning for home then out-sprinted him to the finish to score by one and a half lengths in 1:54.4. Scott Friend trains the six-year-old gelded son of Shadow Play, who was driven by Jason Ryan for owner Gordon Hart of Kitchener, Ont. Early leader Mister X held for third, finishing four lengths behind.
