HARRINGTON, Del. - Jo Ann Looney King's Purrfect Bags ($2.20, Victor Kirby) won the featured $16,000 Mares Open Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in 1:52.2.
The Roddy's Bags Again 4-year-old mare left alertly from post position four and never looked back in her wire-to-wire win over Dublin Rose and Hidden Land for her owner/trainer.
It was the 18th career win in 27 lifetime starts for Purrfect Bags, whose lifetime earnings surpassed $395,000. She was recently third versus some of the top mares in the country in the $100,000 Chip Noble Pace at Miami Valley Raceway (OH) on May 8.
The win was one of three on the program for Kirby, who joined Ross Wolfenden with hat tricks on the card.
