Big Sky Domino won the fastest of three $52,106 New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) divisions for 3-year-old colt trotters Wednesday night at Buffalo Raceway, with Judge Joe and Calchips Brute also coming away with victories.

Big Sky Domino, a son of CR Excalibur, crossed the wire 3 ½ lengths ahead of Monaghan Man in 1:59.4 for driver Jim Morrill Jr. for his second win in three starts this year. Chris Marino trains the winner for owner Domenico Costagliola.

Judge Joe ruled for the third straight time in as many starts in 2009, leading from gate to wire from the outside post eight and scoring in 2:00.3. America finished 2 ¼ lengths behind in second behind the Credit Winter colt driven by D.R. Ackerman for his father, trainer Doug Ackerman, who shares ownership with his wife, Ada Jean, as Doug Ackerman Stables.

Calchips Brute also led at every call to win his division in 2:03.2 for driver Morrill and trainer Trond Smedshammer. The son of Credit Winner won by two lengths over Midnight Jammin for his first winner’s circle trip in four starts this year. Diane Giuliano is the owner.
