Afternoon Dreams and Sand Wyndham both positioned themselves for a possible sweep of this year's Don Mills Trotting Series with victories in the second leg on Monday night (Feb. 2) at Woodbine Racetrack.

It was Afternoon Dreams extending her win streak to six with a front-end tally in the first C$25,000 split for driver Mario Baillargeon in 1:56. The 4-year-old daughter of Dream Vacation-Form Fitting just narrowly held off an onrushing Andover's Son with Southwind Rew landing the show spot.

The Ben Baillargeon trainee is now perfect in four starts this season for owners Sylvia Burke and Randy Ringer. Her share of the purse boosted her career bankroll to $135,472.

Sand Wyndham used similar tactics in capturing the second division for catch-driver Keith Oliver in 1:55.4. The 4-year-old son of Pegasus Spur-Sand Chic easily held off a closing Azur with John Paul's Legacy rounding out the top three.

It was the second win in three outings this season for Sand Wyndham who is trained by Ben Wallace for owner Brad Grant. The victory vaulted him to $99,430 in career earnings.

The C$65,000 Don Mills Final will go postward next Monday night at Woodbine. (Weg)
