Alfie Carroll had more wins than any other driver in Canada last year. And if his performance on Tuesday night at The Raceway at the Western Fair District is any indication, he has no plans in relinquishing that title.

Carroll won more than half the card on Tuesday night, guiding home six of the night's 11 winners. Three of those winners came for trainer Gord McDonnell -- Taylorlane Fancy in Race 5, Alexas Hope in Race 8 and Rightinthekisser in Race 9. Carroll also captured the first dash of the evening with Fiftyshadesofgrey and Race 6 aboard Dutch Seelster.

The sixth win of the night for Carroll came aboard O U Sexy Guy in the featured $11,000 Preferred 2 Trot. Whittled down to a field of just four trotters after three potential starters scratched due to weather and travel conditions, O U Sexy Guy was settled into third, and last. (Brandon Cs was on the gallop early and did not finish.) Carroll carefully guided his charge from third to make a bid for the lead against Cimeronken just past the opening half, and marched on to score a solid 2:00 mile over a track rated three seconds off.

Gordon Mc Donald and Christopher Boland of Ottawa, Ont. hold the papers on O U Sexy Guy (Angus Hall-O U Guys-Balanced Image), a seven-year-old trotting gelding on the cusp of $200,000 in lifetime earnings for trainer Victor Puddy.

After his first dash title in 2015, Alfie Carroll is off to a hot start in 2016 with 18 wins already to boost his career total to 1,656.
