When Yonkers Raceway returns from hiatus, it will do so with an across-the-board purse increase.
Beginning Friday, June 13, Yonkers will offer an increase of approximately 15 per cent on all overnight races.
The new purse structure shall range from $10,000 (for non-winners of $5,000 in last six starts) to $44,000 (for the trio of weekly Opens/Open Handicaps). The ‘old’ range went from $9,000 to $38,000.
“After our mid-season break, we’re looking at a summer and fall of terrific racing,” the track’s general manager, Bob Galterio, said. “As always, we appreciate the horsemen’s support and encourage everyone to compete for the best purses in harness racing.”

Yonkers’ five-night-per-week live schedule will resume on Friday, June 13, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily.
