>The crowd was large and they stayed until the very end hoping to snag a horse to race this summer. It was the second strongest Blooded Horse Spring Sale in 15 years.


Burke Racing Stable LLC brought a nice consignment of raceway horses that contained the sale topper P L Fighter. A competitive conditioned pacer at Philadelphia Harrah’s, the Jeremes Jet gelding was purchased by Rene Allard for $23,000. Allard was also the consignor of the classy Yonkers trotter MMs Lucky Boy that was purchased by Shirley Halas of Michigan for $19,000.


The four-year-old NW4 pacer KRs Power Surge excited the crowd, with Les Givens of Delaware getting the final bid at $22,000. The Village Jolt son was consigned by Karen Fread. Another consistent pacing gelding that got a lot of attention was Camarrow, a fast son of Ponder that leaves Krista Harmon of Michigan on a $19,000 bid from Tony Schadel of Pennsylvania. Two Notch, a fancy NW1 Cams Card Shark filly from the Baron Racing Stable dispersal was purchased by Candy O’Brien, also from Pennsylvania, for $16,000.


In addition to the sale topper, the Burke Racing Stable consignment produced several other appealing horses,, including the winning Northfield Park $8,000 claiming trotter Mr Jesse that sold for $14,000 to Jim Sisk to race in New York. Also, in that consignment was the $10,000 PA claiming pacer Ulshootureyeoutkid that went to Wayne Givens of Delaware for $12,000.


The next Blooded Horse Sale is August 25 and 26 and will feature black-type yearlings in addition to racehorses and breeding stock. For more information, visit bloodedhorse.com.
