>Fresh off her sweep of this year’s SBOA Stakes, Muscle Babe returned to Mohawk Racetrack and dominated the three-year-old filly trotters she faced in Monday’s OSS Gold Series division.


With James MacDonald at the lines, Muscle Babe watched Riveting Rosie park Tosca through first-half fractions of :26.4 and :55.3 before serving up a three-wide challenge of her own. Riveting Rosie held on to a narrow lead at the three-quarter pole in 1:24.2, but Muscle Babe used a :29.1 final frame to draw clear by 5-1/4 lengths over Miss Liv in 1:53.3. Riveting Rosie settled for third.


Dave Menary trains the homebred for owner/breeder Kjell Magne Andersen of Oslo, Norway. The five-time winner lifted her lifetime earnings to $190,063 with the win.


White Becomes Her pulled off an 18-1 upset in the other $105,000 division thanks to her 1:54.1 score for Team Baillargeon. The Angus Hall-Pursuing Keagan lass watched Margie and Danica take turns on the lead through panels of :27.3, :56.2 and 1:25.2 before taking matters into her own hands. Mario Baillargeon tipped his charge off cover turning for home and she used a :28-second closing quarter to win by 1-1/2 lengths over heavily-favoured Danica. Third prize was earned by Margie.


Ben Baillargeon trains the speedy sophomore for owner Vince Mastrangelo of Brampton, Ontario. The victory was her second of the season and the third of her career. The lion’s share of the purse nearly doubled her bankroll, which now stands at $108,340.
