Dover, DE --- Allan Davis recorded his 999th and 1,000th career wins on Monday (Feb. 17) at Dover Downs.


Davis drove Winbak Speedi to a come-from-behind 1:54.3 victory in one of two $14,500 Mares Winners Over co-features and then won a claiming pace with Arc De Triumph in a time of 1:55.


After consecutive second-place finishes by a head, Winbak Speedi broke into the win column for Bay Pond Racing Stable with her first win of the new season. The 5-year-old chestnut mare by Riverboat King-Speedy Towner turned back seven rivals.


In the last race of the day, driving Arc De Triumph, Davis wove has way through the field to take the lead at the head of the stretch and then pulled away for victory No. 1,000. Fred Hertrich III and Bob Tribbett own the Tell All-Animated Art gelding who also won his first of the year.


To keep it in the family, Eddie Davis, Jr. also had a two-bagger. His wins came driving Norma Messick and trainer Timmy Torbert’s Roddy’s Girl in a Delaware $10,000 mares claiming allowance in 1:54 and later behind Messick’s Susan’s Desire, a 1:55.3 success in a $12,000 mares pace.


Corey Callahan added to his season high and track meet total with a driving triple.
