It turned out to be a good night for One Badland Nite as the lightly raced sophomore filly held on to win the $20,000 Muriel Fornwald Memorial Stake in a career-best clocking of 1:55.4 at Fraser Downs on Friday.

The Fornwald Memorial is for three and four-year-old pacing fillies and mares that are B.C. owned, bred or sired and are non-winners of $30,000 lifetime as of January 1, 2013.

One Badland Nite and driver Steven Hudon led the field of nine through fractions of :27.4, :57.4 and 1:26.1 while Terrormissu and Bill Davis advanced into the pocket spot ahead of entrymate Two Timing and Jim Marino. Terrormissu tried to wear down the leader down the stretch, but One Badland Nite held on for the half-length victory.

Two Timing edged out the winner's barn buddy Alices Wonderland and John Hudon eight lengths behind for third-place honours. Philly Collins and John Abbott were also in the three-way battle for show and finished fifth.

Fresh off a pair of wins in previous weeks and assigned the inside post position, One Badland Nite was part of the favoured entry and paid $3.80 to win.

The Badlands Hanover filly, who started her career in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots program, now has three wins and one second-place finish in four sophomore starts and has earned the bulk of her $22,889 bankroll this year.

Steven Hudon and trainer Elizabeth Okum share ownership of One Badland Nite and Alices Wonderland. One Badland Nite's three-race streak has provided 26-year-old Okum with her first career wins as a trainer.

Scott Knight also had a good night at the track scoring a training/driving triple during the 11-race card.
