Dover, DE --- Corey Callahan piloted On The Cusp to her second win in a row, stepping up and besting six foes in the $20,000 Mares Open Pace at Dover Downs on Monday (Jan. 20).


Callahan, whose streak of three consecutive four-win days at the track came to an end when he only drove two winners, steered On The Cusp to a 1:53.1 success in the week’s female feature pace.


Cooking The Books came storming down the lane with Allan Davis to finish second. Jeremes Sweetheart cut out the pace for Ron Pierce and held on in the four-horse finish for third.


Lloyd’s Lady, a 4-year-old by Quik Pulse Mindale from the legendary Delaware mare Sanabelle Island, got up at 21-1 for Montrell Teague to win the $15,000 mares pace in 1:53.1. Beechwood Diana (Ross Wolfenden) took second in front of Winbak Speedi (Allan Davis).
