Former local Horse of the Year Mymomsablizzard (CR Excalibur) went wire-to-wire on Thursday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

The 2012 Horse of the Year at the Spa followed up her award winning season with a $124,802 campaign last year.

Now as an 8-year-old, Mymomsablizzard isn’t having her best season and dropped down to the bottom level condition to compete in the $4,200 conditioned trot on Thursday.

Driver Austin Siegelman moved the Allan Johnson-trained mare out to the early lead, parked a rival and went the distance for her sixth win of the ’14 campaign.

The win for Mymomsablizzard seemed appropriate as snow fell in Saratoga for the first time this season and the track looked like a snow globe for her score which came in 1:57.
