Allan Davis took the lead from Post 7 in the opening $20,000 division with Seboomook Fool Yah and fought off a strong challenge from Megginspin (Ron Pierce) on the backstretch. Seboomook Fool Yah pulled away to her second straight win of the year and ninth career victory in 11 starts for breeder, owner and trainer Garnet O’Marrow. Fashion Guru (Ben Stafford Jr.) sat behind the dueling leaders before closing in the stretch to secure second place. Megginspin was third.
The Wayne Givens-trained daughter of Gamblers Dream-Seboomook Mao is leads all DSBF two- and three-year- old fillies with lifetime earnings of $130,286.
In the DSBF second division, trainer Bart Dalious hustled Jonigold away quickly to take the lead at the quarter and then set sail for his first win in 1:55.4 for The Wiz Kids Stable. The Headmaster-Golden Delicious filly has won three of eight career races. Reflected Art (Ross Wolfenden) who took a shot at the winner heading to the final turn held on second money. Crushed Again (Vic Kirby) was the show finisher
Winbak Farm’s Angel Face registered her first lifetime win scoring a 1:56 decision in the third division. Tony Morgan drove the daughter of Rustler Hanover-Angel Place to victory holding off race-favourite Treasure Valley (Corey Callahan) in the stretch. Bettylou Who (Bret Brittingham) finished third.
The top eight point-getters in the DSBF prelims return next week for $100,000 finals.
Jeremes Sweetheart, steered by Hall of Famer Ron Pierce, used the passing lane to nip front-pacing Spend It All (Jim Morand) in the final step to win the $24,000 Mares Open Handicap in 1:52. The five-year-old Jeremes Jet Fox Valley Evanna matron won in the same way as last week taking the distaff feature again beating Spend It All. Alexachase (Bret Brittingham) finished third.
Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta have gotten a cheque in all but one of her 2014 starts. He has four wins, a second and four thirds banking $58,320 in purses this year. She has won $322,712 lifetime.
