DSBF trotters compete in round two Sunday at Harrington

Harrington, DE --- The second leg of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund stakes for trotters will get underway Sunday (Oct. 16) at Harrington Raceway.

Two divisions of fillies and two for colt and gelding trotters, all going for a purse of $20,000, will help determine who makes their respective $100,000 finals on Oct. 24, when all DE-sired 2-year-olds, pacers and trotters, will compete.

The first division is slated second on the 14-race program in the second half of the daily double as seven fillies will leave the gate. Morgan and Jeanne McInnis' Skuttlebutt (2-1, Allan Davis) finished second in her elimination last week and drew the rail to head the group which also features elimination winner Pam Wagner's JA's Charmer (3-1, Victor Kirby) and runner-up Da Boss Lady (7-2, Jim Morand) for Nanticoke Racing and Bobby Wyatt.

The first colt division will take place as the fifth race and third leg of the Pick-4 (races 3-6) on the program as Art Stafford, Jr. and Wyatt Starkey's Bold Strike (2-1, Stafford) drew post six and is the morning line choice off a second place finish in his round one elimination. Eli Beiler's Hit Man Lauxmont (3-1, Roger Plante) was also second in his division last week.

The second colt division is the eighth race as a couple of elimination winners will match up. Marvin Meyer and David Meyer's Spunky Jack (2-1, Vince Copeland) was a 2:04 winner in his elim and will start from the pole. Meanwhile, Nanticoke Racing and Ross Wolfenden's Windshield (5-2, Wolfenden) was able to atone for an early break in stride to still win by nine lengths last week in 2:04.3 and drew post six among a seven-horse field.

The final filly division is the card's 10th race, with Nanticoke Racing and Delbert Cain's Alleigh Girl (8-5, Wolfenden) bidding for a sweep of her elims, drawing outside post six.

The pacing colts will compete in their second leg on Monday (Oct. 17).
