assieriverboat N Wins Mares Open

Classieriverboat N, a seven-year-old Riverboat King mare, won the $10,000 Filly and Mares Open Pace in 1:57.4 for the Double Up Stable of Washington Pennsylvania at Buffalo Raceway Friday night.

It was the seventh win this season for Classieriverboat N, who has won seven out of her 10 seasonal starts.

Classieriverboat N ($8.30), driven by reinsman Tom Agosti, settled in third as Hidden Touch (John Cummings, Jr.) and Silveresque ( Ray Fisher, Jr.) battled for the early lead. Silveresque hit the quarter in :29.2 while Hidden Touch had the lead at the half in :58.4.

Sensing a slow down, Agosti swung Classieriverboat N to the outside and had the lead past the three-quarters in 1:28.3. A :29.1 last quarter-mile put the winner three-quarters of a length ahead of Pembroke Primo (Kevin Cummings) at the finish line. Dappers Flash (Jamie Dunlap) came in third.

Trained by Alex Giuliani, the $5,000 share of the winning purse put Classieriverboat N’s season bankroll at $32,910 and $146,981 lifetime.
