Nuclear Attraction scored a wire-to-wire victory in Sunday’s $5,500 Winners Over pacing feature at Colonial Downs and shaved a full second off the 1:49.4 previous best he authored a week ago.

The four-year-old Nuclear Breeze gelding faced four other foes including Smile A Little, who was fresh off a new life mark of 1:49.3 he set last Sunday as well. Corey Braden, who earned his fourth win of the day aboard Nuclear Attraction, gained control of the field early and never looked back. After early fractions of :26.2, :53.3 and 1:21, he stopped the clock in 1:48.4 on a warm and sunny day, two and three-quarter lengths over runner-up Smile A Little.

Nuclear Attraction is trained by Brian Malone for Orville Harmon of Mappsville, Virginia. In a trio of starts at Philadelphia between July 23 and August 28, he finished eighth in all three, losing respectively by 16, 11 and 21 lengths. He is two-for-two in Virginia, both in sub-1:50 times.
