Chesapeake City, MD --- This past Sunday at the 2009 Night of Champions Awards dinner, held at Yonkers Raceway, Winbak Farm was announced as the 2009 Breeder of the Year.
Winbak Farm is the breeder of the millionaire 2009 Hambletonian winner Muscle Hill, whose dam Yankee Blondie won 2009 Trotting Broodmare of the Year.
Muscle Hill was the second Hambletonian winner (along with Vivid Photo) for Winbak Farm in five years and the third Horse of the Year (along with Rainbow Blue and No Pan Intended) in seven years.
The Breeder of the Year honor was the farm's third in seven years. Winbak Farm produced more winners than any other breeding farm in 2009 and they earned over $22 million.
Besides Muscle Hill, Winbak Farm produced several of 2009’s standouts: All Heart Gal, Bay Girl, Bay Of Sharks, Dancing Barefoot, Delmarvalous, Emily Do, Full Tank, Gambler’s Passion, Grinformoney, Lady Major, Margarita Man, Met’s Inn, Model Legs, Mr Mcrail, Mr Wiggles, Payne’s Landing, Perfect Launch, Personal Ad, Porque, Redneck Outlaw, Ruby Ransome, She’s A Fan, Spring Break, The Big Scoop and Winbak Speed.
