ch 26th, 2009 Delaware House Bill 100 was presented to the Delaware Gaming and Parimutuel Committee.

On this date public hearing were organized for March 30th at the Christiana Fire Hall (6pm), April 1st at Legislative Hall in Dover (6pm) and Delaware Tech in Georgetown (6pm).

These public hearings are for the public to voice their opinions on House Bill 100 which will legalize sports betting in 10 locations and to legalize three more sites for casinos to open.

At this point in time, in the manner that House Bill 100 is written, Winbak Farm opposes. This bill does not include horseracing in any of the proceeds from the new facilities, but actually takes away one percent from horsemen, increases the taxes on the existing racinos and does away with the Delaware model of the racino possibly jeopardizing Delaware horseracing.

Representatives of Winbak Farm were at the public forum meetings, along with a letter and map of Delaware that shows all the privately owned racetracks/training tracks in the state.
