Russian Kisses ($3.90) earned back-to-back wins in the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Pace at Flamboro Downs as driver/owner Robert Shepherd sent the outside assignee down the road from post six in a 1:55.1 mile Sunday night.


Russian Kisses, trained by Isabelle Darveau, was the favourite after posting a four and a half length victory in the same class last Sunday. The winning margin was two lengths this time with After Alimony following in second and Windsong Glamorous finishing back in third. The daughter of Badlands Hanover has earned 14 of her 18 wins during her four-year-old campaign while banking $77,362 in purses.


Vernon Cochrane's Ding ($7) retook the lead at the quarter pole and went on to win in the $7,000 Preferred 3 for fillies and mares in 1:57.4. Travis Henry drove the four-year-old Art Major mare, who prevailed by three-quarters of a length over early leaver Shellace and the pylon-skimming Topanga Canyon.


Bestinthebusiness ($4.90) also scored a front-end victory in his $11,000 Preferred 2 assignment for horses and geldings. With Ryan Holliday at the lines, the Stephen Davis trainee fought off eventual third-place finisher Kendall Gustav into the stretch and prevailed in 1:54 by three-quarters of a length over Mach Of Ballykeel, who waited in the pocket to gain ground up the passing lane. The six-year-old Another Mile gelding is owned and bred by Brett Boyd Racing Inc.
