Harrington, DE – Mark Howard’s Square Deal ($8.60, Tony Morgan) emerged from the pocket a winner in 1:52.2 in the featured $22.500 Free-For-All Tuesday (June 25) at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-old Heston Blue Chip followed pacesetting favorite Shield Maiden most of the way before pulling the pocket near three-quarters and surging by the leader and prevailing by a length over Melody Hanover and Twin Delight. IT was the second recent win in the class for the Will Reynolds trainee, who has banked nearly $75,000 this season. She took her lifetime best at Harrington on May 14 with a 1:51.4 score.
Cathy Spinella’s Need Ur Opinion ($2.10, Allan Davis) recorded her 15th win of the year, with a 1:55.3 win for trainer Phil Mitchell. She has the most wins this year of any US Standardbred, despite changing barns regularly as she has been claimed in seven straight starts.
Tony Morgan drove four winners, while Davis had three wins on the card.
