Saratoga Springs, NY — Angel Nation ran his 2023 record at Saratoga Casino Hotel to two-for-two by way of a 1:56 win in Monday’s (April 10) $17,000 Open Trot.

A multiple-time Open winner at the Spa in 2022, the 6-year-old son of Archangel returned to the stable of Melissa Beckwith this month after racing out of town through the winter, and he promptly won his 2023 local debut. With a local victory under his harness, Angel Nation overcame post seven to beat Open company, taking advantage of a cover trip and prevailing by 1-3/4 lengths in line to Brett Beckwith over Dewey Arnold (Jimmy Devaux). Reign Of Honor (Luke Hanners) was third.

William Hartt owns Angel Nation, whose fourth win of the year moved him over the $350,000 mark in career earnings.
