The seven-year-old Sportswriter stallion Jimmy Freight continues to rule the top ranks at Woodbine Mohawk Park, this time posting a coast-to-coast win in the $39,000 Free For All Pace on Saturday (May 7).

Driver Louis-Philippe Roy sent Jimmy Freight for the front and strode through fractions of :26.4, :55.3 and 1:22.4 under minimal challenge. He turned for home and held a 1-1/2-length lead to the finish of a 1:49.1 mile over pocket-sitter Undrthsouthrnsun N. Wheels On Fire mounted a mild first-over bid but gave chase in third and Desperate Man, Canada's reigning Horse of the Year who was making his four-year-old debut, closed for fourth.

Owned by Adriano Sorella, Jimmy Freight won his eighth race from 14 starts this season and his 29th from 68 overall. He has earned $1,613,625 and paid $3.40 to win.

Linedrive Hanover rung another win onto his record to nab his 10th straight victory when taking a $25,000 conditioned pace in 1:50.2. Driver James MacDonald came from off the speed with the Anthony Beaton trainee to grab the front and win by 1-1/4 lengths. The four-year-old Betting Line gelding races for West Wins Stable, McKinley & Fielding and Mac Nichol and has banked $122,200. He paid $3 to win.
