Harrington, DE — Carrie Malone’s Michelle’s Jazz ($21, Tony Morgan) was an upset winner in the $20,000 Mares Open on Tuesday (April 26) at Harrington Raceway in 1:52.4.

The 7-year-old Roll With Joe mare fanned three-deep in the stretch and hit her best gears late to catapult to the lead in the shadow of the wire over Feeling Sweet and Tae. It was the fifth win of the year for Michelle’s Jazz, who has banked $45,852 this year for trainer Brian Malone.

It was one of three wins on the card for Morgan, who celebrated his 17,000th career win Sunday. Art Stafford Jr. had four wins on the card. Montrell Teague had a double.
