After making a costly break last week, Fall Bliss ($13.00) rebounded with a 1:58 score in Saturday's (July 3) featured $1,500 winners-over pacing feature at Exhibition Park Raceway.
Fall Bliss and owner-driver Dr. Mitchell Downey split foes to establish the early lead, accelerating to clear Ebandtheboys before completing a :28.4 first quarter. Once gaining control of the terms, there was little opportunity for the 13-year-old Blissfull Hall ridgling to back the tempo down, as Todd Trites had Paris Beau out and moving from third to apply steady pressure through middle splits of :58.2 and 1:28.2. Despite Paris Beau's best efforts, Fall Bliss found more through the far turn, edging clear steadily and winning by three widening lengths while driven out. Paris Beau held second; Ebandtheboys faded to third after tiring from the pocket.
Ellen Stevenson trains Fall Bliss, a 54-time winner in his career with three wins in eight starts so far this season.
