Style Snapshot wasted no time before showing off in the Dresden Raceway opening day harness racing feature as he went directly to the front and bottomed out the Preferred field.

Tyler Nostadt capitalized on the mare’s inside post – position two – and pushed her forward to lead going into the first turn. Style Snapshot completed the opening quarter in :28.1 and created a gap to her seven rivals despite getting a breather going to the half in :59.2.

The field began to reel in Style Snapshot in the third quarter, which was finished in 1:30.4, and A Positive Hanover (Donnie Rankin Jr.) maneuvered to the inside of foes in the final turn and closed in on the leader. Style Snapshot laboured approaching the finish, but she had enough remaining to outlast a charging A Positive Hanover to claim the victory in 2:00.

A Positive Hanover came up a head short in second. Leafs and Wings (Jonathan Hahn) finished third in an admirable outside effort. The winner returned $5.40.

Style Snapshot is undefeated in 2021 with two victories. The seven-year-old Royal Mattjesty mare is now 17-for-132 lifetime with $143,375 in earnings. Nostadt also trains for Blueshoe Investments of Baltic.

Nostadt had a double in the bike and as a conditioner. Garrett Rooney won two as a pilot.

The card was Dresden Raceway’s first since Aug. 3, 2020. The Dresden, ON track will return on Sunday, Jun. 20. Provincial regulations currently prevent spectators during live racing.
